We should smell different
every aspect of our lives should identify with the King of Kings
Imagine you are in first century Rome while watching the victorious army of your nation march by in triumph. There are loud shouts and cheers, impressive flags and banners but I want you to focus on the aroma. Leading the victory parades were men carrying censers burning the best smelling incense along with a powerful fragrance of flowers being thrown and crushed under foot. Now, with that picture in your mind, let's read 2 Corinthians 2:14:
“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.”
In this epistle, Paul talks about the struggle in bringing the true gospel to the Gentiles while he points all of the victory to God. No matter where God takes us, we should be living stones representing His eternal Kingdom; we will be victorious because the final battle is already won. Christ has already defeated sin through His death, burial and resurrection. Now we have a calling “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,”(Mark 10:19). While we walk through this sin-saturated world, we will be bringing with us the wonderful fragrance of God's truth.
We belong in the Lord’s army; we have His truth and anointing in our lives! Now let us go into every joy, trial, dark place, and comfortability to live that out.
No excuses, no compromises and no fear— even to the point of death.
Keep your hand to the plow,
Cody
